As the first post of 2018, it's obligatory to start with a Happy Belated New Year! I hope you had some well deserved rest over the holidays and enjoyed all the food & family.
January is this amazing time for closure and fresh starts and Yuuga Kemistri has spent much of the first few weeks reflecting and prepping for a busy year ahead. 2017 was hectic and full of travel & adventure. Yuuga Kemistri taught over X classes which means that Asa has now met and taught 3000+ students in London! And there’s no sign of slowing down. Asa, our founder, also launched her own raw vegan food brand; iRaw Healthy Habits which has skyrocketed onto the UK, EU and even global market! This has meant that Asa spent much of the latter part of 2017 travelling and meeting new buyers in various cities in Europe, Canada and the US.
As a Raw Vegan Foodie, it can be challenging at the best of times to find restaurant and meal options! This is frustrating but also an exciting opportunity as that gap is quickly closing. Veganism has risen in the UK alone by over 360% in the last ten years. And the health food trend is on the rise across the globe. Naturally some cities are better that others but while options can be limited, it’s still so much better than 10 or even 5 years ago.
Asa has selected some of her favourite spots that she got to try out during the year and we compiled it into a blog. If you’re planning a trip to any of these cities, be sure to check these spots out!
Favourite Spots to Eat - New York:
New York is one of those cities that has it all. Noted as one of the most densely populated cities in America, there is an option for everyone when it comes to food.
Little Choc Apothecary - Website
What's better than crepes! They're perfect anytime of day, sweet or savoury and this spot is fully vegan! Plus Little Choc focuses on sustainability and supporting local, fair trade and organic where possible.
Eat By Chloe - Website
Another quirky spot offering plant based meals that are full of colour and variety! There's a few locations to choose from in New York and they even have your dog covered with their offering of Pupcakes!
Juice Generation - Website
The last spot worth a mention is Juice Generation. Offering cold pressed juices, smoothies, acai bowls and quick snacks, Yuuga loved combination of flavours on offer! Perfect when you're lacking a little energy and need a quick pick me up. Highly recommend anything on the menu. It's all delicious!
Favourite Spots to Eat -Oslo:
Scandinavian countries tend to be a little bit more of a challenge for a vegan, let alone a raw vegan. Lucky for us, the continued rise in veganism and plant based diets has seen new restaurants begin to open that cater to this style of eating.
Nord Vegan - Website
The menu changes all the time but there's plenty of choice from main meals to desserts and drinks.
Oslo Raw - Website
Vibrant, minimalist and packed with vegan desserts - this place can't really do wrong!
Favourite Spots to Eat -Reykjavik:
Glo - Website
Yuuga's founder Asa and Glo's owner Sólveig share a friendship and love for raw vegan food.
Glo's ethos: "Our goal is to make it easy for busy people to discover and try new, exciting healthy meals that enrich the mind, body and spirit."

Favourite Spots to Eat -Edmonton
Asa spent Christmas 2017 over in Edmonton, Canada exploring the sites and tastes and meeting potential future distributors for her vegan raw brand iRaw Healthy Habits.
The Moth Cafe - Website
A plant based cafe that provides nutritious, medicinal and tasty plant-based food/drinks with notes of charm, sweet social pleasure, and hints of environmentally conscious undertones!
Noorsih - Website
A conscious eatery and a yoga studio - total zen! The cafe is vegetarian but there's plenty of variety, vegan and even raw options too.
Favourite Spots to Eat -Paris:
Paris was another spot Asa visited earlier this year while meeting potential distributors for iRaw. The trip was a big success and the gastronomy didn't disappoint either! France is well known for their cuisine and their vegan range too is advanced and full of variety - restaurants, markets, health stores, unlimited choices for vegan and organic products!
42 Degres - Website
The first vegan restaurant in France using preparation methods that preserve all the nutrients, vitamins and enzymes in the food.
Le Potager Dumarais - Website
Traditional french food but vegan style!
Favourite Spots to Eat -Copenhagen:
The final stop is Copenhagen. Sadly, the people of this Danish city like their beer and their meat making vegan and raw vegan even more so a challenge.
42 Raw - Website
A raw vegan cafe dishing up salads and other lunch style meals. And of course, they have a great selection of juices and smoothies and cakes.
